Certification Renewal and/or Continuing Education is an integral aspect of About the Patient that helps providers maintain excellence in patient care. It ensures that each provider recognizes changes within disease and medication therapy management. Continuing Education improves our providers combined knowledge and helps make About the Patient a strong program.
Applies to all providers involved with direct care of patients.
- Must be a certified provider in good standing with About the Patient.
- Providers are required to document 12 hours of ACPE or Category 1 CME every year. At least 4 credit hours must be directly related to all certifications (Ex. Diabetes, Pain, MTM, etc.) held by the provider for the About the Patient program. Providers will submit a Provider Certification Renewal Form prior to March 1ston an annual basis.
- To ensure the reliability and accuracy of the provider certification renewal, About the Patient will audit randomly selected providers. Providers selected for auditing are required to submit appropriate documentation to support their ACPE or Category 1 CME credits.
